Class Etiquette

Etiquette (Before Each class)

These are some recommendations to enhance your practice and observe basic courtesy for the benefit of your fellow practitioners:

  • If this is your first class, please arrive 15 minutes early to complete paperwork. If have any pre-existing medical conditions, please consult with your doctor before starting a Pilates practice.

  • Plan on arriving a few minutes early to avoid rushing and allow yourself to relax for a few moments to enhance your enjoyment of the class. If you arrive late, wait for the class opening to conclude. Then enter quietly and do your best not to disrupt the class.
For safety reasons, late arrivals cannot be accommodated 10 minutes after class starts.
  • We love children, but please plan on checking with your teacher prior to bringing your children to practice.
  • Please leave your cell phones outside the studio or turn them off during practice. If you have an emergency situation, please let your instructor know prior to the beginning of class.
  • Keep the air clean in the studio. Please refrain from tobacco use, using perfumes, heavily scented deodorants, or colognes prior to practice.
  • Remove your shoes after entering to keep the practice area clean for everyone. There is a designated place for shoes and personal belongings for your convenience.
  • Let your teacher know of any special needs or medical issues to allow her/him to help your find modifications that will make your practice more enjoyable.
  • Plan on wearing comfortable clothing that covers your body and allows for flowing movement.
  • For hygiene issues, bring your own mat, a towel, and a non-breakable closed water container.
